Many good things are still happening in England! Stonehenge (not that big of deal, surprisingly), cathedrals (amazing - very big deal), and other odds and ends around Bath and nearby areas. Tomorrow is Winchester and Southhampton. We are on our own to explore, so we'll see what happens.

I've been running around bath every morning at 6:30 and it's been quite pleasant. The nightlife is really busy - too bad I'm not a big clubber :P

No pictures for a few more days at least - the firewall here is apparently a bit too strict. Lo siento.

so you should generate a random fact to share with us USA'ers about where you're at. Like one random fact per internet usage time. :)

Bath is built in the mouth an extinct volcano

It’s a spa city with hot springs beneath the city

The artist, Jamie Cullum, is from Bath.

The earliest documented inhabitants were the Romans, who indulged themselves in Bath's thermal springs (unique in the UK). Bath's second high-profile era was the eighteenth century, when the town was a hugely popular resort for royalty, aristocracy, gamblers and rakes. In between 'taking the waters' at the Pump Rooms, and attending colourful assemblies, Bath's Georgian tourists indulged in all manner of intrigues, and the kind of superficial lifestyle described by one-time resident Jane Austen.

:D

Maybe I should just hire you to dispense the intriguing facts!

Here's another random one: Winchester was the original capital of England as assigned by Alfred the Great, towards the end of the dark ages.

That is interesting about Winchester! I wonder (and also bet) if it the place where the Winchester rifle was created.

Brandon, Uncle Bob and I have been to almost every place you have listed. I am surprised. I thought Stonehenge was way too fantastic. Did they have a fence around it or could you walk between the stones? That is a pretty awsome experience. I have never seen Dover. That would have been our next trip. Am having a great time at your dad's computer and especially enjoying doing my own thing with no one around. I love when your mom and dad come home but I've been around people so constantly the past 3 months (yes,it's been 3 months) that the quiet is quite healing. Love, A.S.
